The guy I'm with is so "victimized". Everything I do is to intentionally hurt him, period. No two ways about it. I finished this book today and started to take one step, being happy on the inside. I came home with a big smile on my face, talked nicely to him, asked if there was anything I could get him etc. of course I was " patronizing " him and how dare I. My smile was just to "jab" him and I need to think long and hard. Well I have. After reading this, I'm thinking his days are numbered! Thank you for giving me the confidence to know I can get through a large mound of debt created without him. It's my house, he's going to have to go! I can do this. Will have to work two jobs, but rather come home to this every day, two jobs seems like a dream! Thank you, thank you, thank you for getting me unstuck and for stopping me from constantly apologizing for nothing. Now he can go be miserable by himself.Product details

Restart Your Life Let Go of the Past Embrace Your Mistakes and Make Your Comeback (Audible Audio Edition) Hung Pham Joe Hempel HP Media Books Reviews
It’s amazing when you can connect with some books you read because you truly feel like the author is in your head and knows exactly what’s going on. This is how I felt after reading Start Over. It’s not always easy to deal with all the BS life gives you but to come across a book that’s written with real emotions helps make things easier.
The author goes to great lengths to talk about his problems while sparing now details. Each story teaches you a life lesson and even he admits that he’s not an expert. Instead he’s just a guy who’s had to climb out of his own hole and sharing the lessons he’s learned along the way. Great stuff!
Loved this book; I found it to be very motivating at a low point in my life. I liked that he talked about his own failures in his 20s, which I can personally relate to. Knowing that through a change in his perspective and perseverance he was able to turn his life around is greatly inspirational to me. It made me feel excited for what I can accomplish now. Highly recommended for people who, like me, are in a rut and need to be reminded that you can turn things around for the better.
Restart Your Life had some good inspirational points with short chapters and the spice of uniqueness added by the authors admission of his own struggles to get his life on the right track. Well-written but there wasn't enough in-depth tactics to walk away with. I would have preferred a more gritty read for a book that promises to "Restart Your Life", but there are a string of good lessons here. The best parts of the book were
- Stop victimizing yourself and blaming others
- Stop making problems bigger than they are
- Change an outcome by changing it's perspective
- Be true to yourself and own who you are
A good read overall.
Is okay but really more a magazine article than a book in length that is. in famous for thin/light books. Big font size, bountiful white space and really thick pages suggests this book is an insult to authors who write real books. I bought the hardcopy book version and immediately was greeted by an internet link to another free book in this book. Can you imagine trying to link to the internet with link in a hard copy book? Click this link..... Sheez!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book as the author did a great breaking down his process of how he rebuilt his life one step at a time. I've made some mistakes in my lifetime and sometimes trying to cope with everything can become overwhelming. After reading this book, I'm confident I can take the right steps to begin making progress in my quest for redemption.
I love how this book is written, the author is thoughtful about the way he shares his stories. You can tell he cares about his audience because he writes in a way that you know exactly what he went through. You feel really bad for him at first but as you keep reading its very inspiring to see the changes he’s made to be a better person.
I would say it is a must read for anyone who’s made a mistake or two in life but even if you have a great life still an awesome read to get motivated to do more.
As a college junior, I can definitely relate to this. I also grew up in an Asian household and had my goals set out for me with "Get Straight A's" and it was really frustrating because that was the only value my parents saw in me while I was in High School. Now that I am in college, I don't get straight A's and I have never really been able to tell my parents that or even bring it up. I didn't go to the college that I wanted to go to and when seeing my peers succeed, although I am happy for them, it makes me feel behind. Like I am failing.
What I can say about this book is that it is RELATABLE! Reading about someone who was in a similar situation as you are and seeing how they turned their life around is really reassuring.
10/10 would recommend this book to anyone!
